Summer in September: A Trip to Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro

Rainy season usually begins as early as June but that didn't stop me from beaching out under the sun. As long as haring araw is up there, summer ain't over!
We reached Mindoro a little after one in the afternoon and boy it was a smooth ride. The sea was calm and the weather was in our favor despite the grey sky.

We stayed at Cafe de Paris for 3 days and 2 nights and only paid Php1,600.00. The room was okay, 2 beds, private CR, equipped with an old fashioned TV. We didn't turn off our AC during our stay (sulitin ang bayad). We had our lunch at Food trip (they offer unlimited rice on their meals). Three of us shared one whole fried chicken with salted egg, atchara, ensaladang talong and 2Liters of Melon Juice for only Php499.00
We didn't do much on our first day. We just walked around the white beach and slammed our bodies against the angry waves! The sea was quite mad come afternoon. Galit na galit. Parang yung naramdaman ko nung nalaman kong niloko ako mg ex ko.
We availed a tour package for Php2,000.00 which took us to several locations and activities like island hopping, snorkeling, fish feeding, tamaraw falls, mangrove ecopark, view deck, virgin beach and more.
Virgin Beach was one of the best places to visit in Oriental Mindoro. It took us about an hour (tricycle) from the White Beach to reach this Paradise. We were told this property is for sale for Php35M so if you have the money, go buy it! Haha! There's no entrance fee to this sweet paradise.
Mangrove Ecopark. The 400meter bamboo bridge will tour you around this ecopark. Very chillax ng place. Entrance fee was around 20 pesos.
Snorkling and fish feeding are just some of the best activities you can do in Mindoro aside from their extreme water activities like banana boat ride, flying fish and parasailing. I had a lot of fun swimming around the clear water and its enchanting rich marine life.
Don't forget to try eating sea urchins! They're very flavourful and you can grab three for only Php100.00. But in my case, kuyang mabait got me 8 pcs of these yummy treats for only Php120.00! Yay!
Tamaraw Falls. There's an entrance fee of Php30.00 if you want to swim here sa Tamaraw Falls.
For extra tipid food trip, head over sa likod ng white beach and you can find some carinderias there that serve good food as low as 50pesos. You can also buy your alak there instead of buying it sa grocery store near sa beach.
Mindoro will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. So thank you for the good and the bad memories. I will definitely come back again!
