GO! BEGINNER'S GUIDE FOR YOUR FIRST SOLO TRIP
![]() |
Go where your feet wants to take you.
Travelling can now be done easily thanks to cheap flights and discounted all-in-tours available every now and then. And thanks to social media too because one can now easily get information about the places to visit, things to do, as well as expenses, etc.
But if being scared is one of the top reasons why you can't travel solo, then you, darling, are not alone. It is abso-fucking-lutely normal. I was once scared too - in fact, sometimes, I still am. Though I have been to quite a few places alone, I still consider myself as a beginner.
I just started this personal-slash-travel-blog-kuno. So to unleash the wanderlust in you, here are some tips:
GMT - or Google mo, teh! Do some research first. There are so many information available online. Itineraries are just a click away. Make your vacay well-planned!
BRING EXTRA MONEY - Going on a tight budget is normal. Travelling does not need to be expensive. In fact, your Php2000.00 can go a looooong way. But don't forget to bring extra cash, in case kailanganin mo for emergency, at least meron ka.
TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHERE YOU ARE GOING - Or where you are. Always make this a habit. Let your family or friends know where you are going so in case something happens (knock on wood), they'll know where to start looking for you.
PUT YOURSELF FIRST - I'd like to quote BlankNomad's comment on --> this post. <-- "ALWAYS PUT YOURSELF FIRST. Trust your instincts. If you think things are going the wrong way, stop, think and BACK OUT if necessary"
SMILE - This applies not just to solo travelers but to everyone. May it be an unfamiliar place you are visiting, or somewhere you always hang out, remove that resting bitch face. Seriously. If a random person shoots you with a resting bitch face, how exactly would you feel? (Problema ko 'to noon pa, pero natuto na ako ngayon. Haha!)
ORGANISE YOUR EMERGENCY KIT - This includes not just your prescription medicines but your mini-self-defense tools as well (pepper spray, swiss knife, etc. make you this can be easily accessed from your bag). Make sure your powerbanks are fully charged. Oh, and write down your home phone number, your parents' and friends mobile number too.
HAVE FUN! - Make each adventure unforgettable! Iwanan ang problema, wag isipin ang trabaho, mag relax at mag enjoy!
Ready ka na ba sa adventure mo? GO lang ng GO!
