Rainy season usually begins as early as June but that didn't stop me from beaching out under the sun. As long as haring araw is up there, summer ain't over! We reached Mindoro a little after one in the afternoon and boy it was a smooth ride. The sea was calm and the weather was in our favor despite the grey sky. We stayed at Cafe de Paris for 3 days and 2 nights and only paid Php1,600.00. The room was okay, 2 beds, private CR, equipped with an old fashioned TV. We didn't turn off our AC during our stay (sulitin ang bayad). We had our lunch at Food trip (they offer unlimited rice on their meals). Three of us shared one whole fried chicken with salted egg, atchara, ensaladang talong and 2Liters of Melon Juice for only Php499.00 We didn't do much on our first day. I'm pretty sure you have already heard about Jomalig Island as it has become one of the top destinations to visit this summer. I have seen hundreds of photos on social media about this Golden Paradise. It isn't really that far from Manila (when viewed on google maps). But from what I heard, it takes about 3 hours from Manila to get to the Port and another 4 - 5 hours from the port to get to the Island. Oh, and there's only one boat that leaves to Jomalig per day. After a headache-inducing-body-aching-mind-fucking work week, I decided to take some time off so I could let myself glued on my bed for days and not worry about anything. But my superglue-my-body plan didn’t work - my feet told me to go somewhere. So I did. From Sta. Rosa, Laguna, I traveled all the way to Pagsanjan, Siniloan and finally, Sta. Maria (my Mother’s home town) where I spent two days and had one of the best solo adventures of my life. I reached Sta. Maria, Laguna around 8:00PM. I slept a little after midnight and woke up around 5:00AM. People here sleep and wake up early. I didn’t have a proper breakfast because I wasn’t that hungry. I only had coffee and cigarettes - my forever perfect combo! One of the kids told me there’s a place in Brgy. Cueva that serves one of the best tasting Lomi for only 20 pesos.   So I posted earlier that I want to go wanderlust-slash-soul-searching-kuno beginning next month but guess what? My libido for going out and about was on full swing a little after 2:00PM I decided to pack my things and just go. BOOM.   Deep in the forest and up in the mountains. That was what I had in mind. I have been living in Sta. Rosa, Laguna since forever. Part of me wants to go and live somewhere but part of me wants to stay. I don’t know about you guys but this dirty south has got almost everything I want. I live just a few kembots from Enchanted Kingdom, Paseo, Nuvali, Pansol, and bus/van terminals going to Alabang, Cubao, Tagaytay and Batangas. Streetfood stalls that serve deep fried isaw, the ever so popular kwek-kwek, fishballs and all-the-balls-you-can-imagine, and our pambato ng Sta.Rosa, proben, are just a stone throw away. Ever felt the itch of going somewhere alone because of a bad break up? That’s exactly how I felt after watching # SakalingHindiMakarating (insert forever alone meme) in Festival Mall, Alabang. It triggerred the #wanderlust in me after seeing the beautiful places Cieo (Allesandra De Rosi, # SakalingHindiMakarating ) visited to find the mysterious person who has been sending her post cards from all over the places in the Philippines. I have always been in love with mother nature. I hate the stress city life gives me. Imagine traffic jam, air, noise and light pollution, crowded places and the shitty concrete jungle? That just fucks the hell out of me. I don’t know if it’s just me but I’d rather sleep in a tent, alone or with someone I love, have a few bots of beer, listen to the calming sound the waves make than stay in a five-star-not-worth-your-money-masabing-sosyal-fancy hotel. 7,107 islands.
